Bill McGill
Chief Executive Officer

Bill is responsible for establishing the strategic goals of the Company and developing policies and plans consistent with the mandate as expressed by the Board and Shareholders. Bill also oversees VersaPay’s finance department, specifically with respect to capital allocation, budgeting, resource planning and identifying partnership, acquisition and investment opportunities.

Prior to joining VersaPay, Bill was with TD Securities for 11 years, where he was a Managing Director in both investment banking and equity proprietary trading. In these roles Bill analyzed the strategies and corporate structures of a number of North American media and telecommunications companies with a specific focus on valuation, capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to TD Securities, Bill was a Manager in Ernst & Young Corporate Finance Inc.’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group.

Bill has an MBA from Queen’s University and a BA (economics) from the University of Western Ontario. He is on the Advisory Board of the Power to Be Adventure Therapy Society and the Charitable Council of the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario.


Patrick MacDonald
President

Patrick leads VersaPay’s national sales and account management teams as well as merchant sales support team. He has significant experience in the merchant services industry, coming from the sales and distribution arms of one of Canada’s largest white label ATMs. Prior to the payments industry, Patrick founded and operated one of Canada’s most successful marketing companies, creating sales and marketing strategies focused on the travel industry, trade associations and third-party vendor partnerships.

Patrick is very active within the community where he coaches youth soccer and is a consultant to the Concordia University men’s hockey team. While being a hands on team player, Patrick believes that the most important factor in the success of any size company is its people and the support they are given. It is this philosophy that has proven to be the key in Patrick’s successful business model, and one that he is committed to see continue within the framefwork of this organization.


Kevin Short
Chief Technology Officer, EVP

One of the original founders of VersaPay, Kevin is responsible for developing the new payment products and services, developing the enterprise sales channel, building enterprise relationships and corporate partnerships. Kevin has been involved in designing, securing and implementing banking infrastructure for many of Canada’s leading financial institutions for over 14 years and oversees all technology-centric aspects of VersaPay, including the VersaCard and Versa-EFT platforms.

Prior to VersaPay, Kevin developed the security architecture and oversaw the security design and implementation for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics at Bell Canada and was a top security advisor to many Bell enterprise clients, including many of Canada’s leading financial institutions and national transport networks. Kevin brings his strength of building strong relationships with fortune 500 companies and developing comprehensive solutions to their complex problems. With a strong security and technology background, Kevin has worked as a top advisor and technical specialist for many fortune 500 companies, some of which include: Sun Microsystems, Nortel Networks, TELUS, Enbridge Pipelines, Bell Canada and TransCanada amongst others.


Jeff Sheremeta
General Counsel

Jeff Sheremeta acts as VersaPay’s General Counsel and Investment Officer. Prior to VersaPay, Jeff’s practice focused on the acquisition, reorganization and financing of public and private companies, including reverse takeover transactions involving both Canadian and U.S. exchange-listed companies in a variety of industries including technology, and industrial issuers.

Jeff received his MBA from Queen’s University and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in May 1997. Jeff was called to the British Columbia Bar in June of 1998. He originally received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and finished the Canadian Securities Course.
